More than 500 jobs will be generated in Pangasinan once construction of Burgos Pangasinan Solar Energy Corporations (BPSEC) starts in the last quarter of 2024.

BPSEC is a 65 MWp ground-mounted solar farm to be built in Brgy. Sapa Grande in the Municipality of Burgos. It was awarded a solar energy operating contract by the Department of Energy last 20 December 2023 and was granted a green lane certificate by the Philippine Board of Investments last 19 January 2024, making it a strategic investment and a priority project of the national government.

The impact of this solar power plant will also extend beyond direct employment. The boost in demand for goods and services will also be evident in the local businesses, as workers and their families contribute to the local economy.

It does not only contribute to clean energy generation, but also it also creates lasting economic opportunities for the people of Burgos.
